The Dashboard part is the content summary which shows the site pages. The Dashboard a Summary of your site data, but where the gold nuggets that are lie is at the data. Visitors, Traffic Sources, Content and Aims break down it. The Visitors Overview Tab includes information similar but with more detail. It provides the flexible date range line graph of your site traffic, and also information on unique visitors, total page views, average page views, and time spent on your site, bounce rate and new visits. The Visitor Segmentation options delve into the details enabling you to see visitor languages, user and network places defined options. Also available is browser information like browser type, operating system used, screen color depth, display resolution, and whether the people have Java or Flash support enabled in their browsers.
This information is vital in determining how your website is designed and what technologies are used in the website. The remainder of the Overview page is dedicated to a profile of the customer’s browser type and link speed. You can see whether your customers are still using slow dialup connections and adjust your website design direct traffic in Google analytics accordingly. The other left Navigation tabs, titled Map Overlay, New vs. Returning, Languages, Visitor Trending, Visitor Loyalty, Browser Capabilities, Network Properties and User Defined delve into the data presented in the Visitors Overview more extensively, providing visual and graphical depictions of traffic. The quantity of information presented is somewhat overwhelming, but it enables you to fine tune your website to maximize the user experience.
